Teenager Killed and Juvenile Injured in Tampa Car Accident

An area teenager lost his life and a juvenile was injured following a Tampa car accident involving a single automobile. The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Wild Tamarind Drive in the K-Bar Ranch community of Tampa, Florida.

19-year old William Gallagher was operating a 1998 2-door Honda on Wild Tamarind Drive when it appears they had lost control of the vehicle, causing an accident that resulted in the car being flipped over.

Gallagher was pinned under the car. He was later pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. 16-year old Charles Trimbl sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. A third passenger, 21-year old Cameron Davis, fled the scene of the accident running for reasons that remain unclear.

Gallagher had resided on Points Woods Drive in Wesley Chapel. The Pasco County School District reports that Gallagher graduated Wiregrass Ranch High School in the spring of 2010.

It is not known whether Gallagher was wearing a seatbelt at the time of collision. Investigators reported gouges in the pavement that suggested the Honda may have been traveling too fast at a turn in the road, resulting in the vehicle overturning. Local officials are continuing to investigate the incident.
