dir="ltr">Saturday afternoon, Jake Jimenez was the driver of the car that witnesses say was traveling at a high rate of speed when entering the intersection of Littleton Road and US 41 in the North Fort Myers area. His speed was such that witnesses claim his car was airborne entering the intersection after hitting a bump. Traveling east on Littleton Road, he lost control of his car and struck three vehicles that were waiting at the light headed west.

Jimenez moved across the lane dividers and struck two vehicles. The second was struck with such force to move it off the road and flipping it upside down into a ditch by the side of the road. The driver’s car then began to spin and a third car was hit. This last vehicle was a pickup truck that had its windshield smashed with the front tires of the speeding car. Jimenez was arrested, the particular charges against him have not yet been filed.

Although the Florida Highway patrol has stated that none of the injuries were life threatening, five of the people in the accident were taken to nearby hospitals with three of them listed in serious condition. The other two had minor injuries.

Carrie Pitt, who was in the first car to get hit, said that everything happened very fast, and she wasn’t sure what had happened. Michael Lobbestael, who was in the pick-up truck, said he didn’t even remember what happened, but when he got out of the truck, he heard everyone screaming.

For those who have sustained injuries in an accident such as this, it is important to go to the hospital for treatment as well as documentation. This is true even if you think your injuries are only minor. A Tampa car accident attorney may be able to assist you better in getting compensation after an incident such as this, but early medical treatment can be a crucial element.

Brothers Injured in Tampa Car Accidents Five Years Apart

Car Accident

Personal Injury
<guid

The dump truck driver wasn’t injured, and no charges have been filed.

A 2007 Tampa car accident inflicted similar injuries on Michael Graziano’s brother, John, when he was riding in a car being driven by Nick Bollea, the son of wrestler Hulk Hogan.

John Graziano was also taken to Bayfront Medical Center immediately after the wreck. He returned home only after eight months of hospitalization and two years of rehabilitation. His brother, mother Debra and sister Christin had been caring for him.

After the 2007 wreck, the Graziano family hired a Tampa personal injury lawyer who helped them pursue a multi-million lawsuit against the Bollea family. The case was settled in 2010.

Source:

http://www2.tbo.com/news/news/2012/apr/03/7/two-injured-when-car-hits-dump-truck-in-pinellas-ar-387962/

Two Separate Tampa Car Accidents Claim Lives

Car Accident
<guid

The accident occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. Deputies report that the bicyclist crossed the path of a Ford Fusion traveling northbound on Highway 41 when he was hit and killed. The driver stated that the cyclist quickly pulled in front of the car. The name of the bicyclist was not released. The accident, which took place on Westshore Boulevard near the intersection with Spruce, seemed relatively minor at the time. According to Atwood, however, Talib lost his temper and threatened to “put a cap” in her.

Atwood’s claim is supported by the tape of a 911 call she placed shortly after the accident. On the tape, which was recorded by the Tampa Police Department, Atwood describes the accident and states that a man is standing outside her car and yelling at her. She does not, however, mention any specific threats.

Given the excitement and chaos surrounding the accident, Atwood did not immediately notice she had been injured, and she told the 911 dispatcher and the investigating officer that she was unharmed. According to Atwood’s attorneys, however, she discovered her injuries the next morning and promptly sought medical treatment. Talib’s attorneys point to this as evidence that she fabricated the injuries.

While Talib has offered Atwood a settlement to cover her medical expenses, Atwood’s attorneys claim that the amount of the settlement indicates that Talib does not recognize the severity of the allegations Atwood has brought against him.

Atwood’s Tampa personal injury attorneys have filed a complaint on her behalf, claiming in part that the Tampa Police Department “summarily ignored” her accusations against the football player.

Fatal Tampa Car Accident on Courtney Campbell Causeway

Uncategorized
<guid

The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 in the morning on Sunday.

The man who was killed and has not yet been identified was traveling north on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. The crash took place at a traffic light near the Tampa Shriner’s Hospital in the vicinity of a boat ramp.

The victim’s car was coming out of the boat ramp on the south side of the parkway in order to head in the direction of Clearwater. The party bus was traveling east toward Tampa and crashed into the vehicle as it came out of the boat ramp. The driver was alone in the bus.

The investigation is still on going and which driver had the green light is still undetermined. Charges are pending until this can be established.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he later died. It was not clear if the driver of the bus was hurt in the accident. He has also not been named at this time.

If something similar has happened to you or to a loved one, you may want to contact a Tampa personal injury lawyer. Polk County police began their search for the driver on Sunday.

Pamela Miclette, 45, was hit on Amour Avenue, a two-laned neighborhood street just off of Dairy Road and above U.S. 92. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Miclette was crossing the street to visit a neighbor at about 8:40 p.m. when a white Ford F-150 pickup truck turned off of Dairy Road, west onto Amour Avenue. Miclette died at the scene.

The truck may have damage to the front-end and had a dark stripe or mark on the tailgate.

Unfortunately, this accident falls in the long line of pedestrian accidents in Florida this year. Transportation for America, a non-profit advocacy group, recently conducted a study which stated four Central Florida metro areas as the country’s most dangerous places to walk. The first-ranked was Orlando-Kissimmee and the second was Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater. Polk County is located in the middle of the two areas.

<a

A clerk at a local convenient store reported the fire at about 1:39 a.m.

When firefighters arrived at the house, they found in up in flames and found 65-year-old Blackman in the living room. The victim was taken to Tampa general hospital where he later died. Neither the house nor the man survived.

Polk County Sherriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Kermit Sanford of Winter Haven Saturday night. The Orange County Sherriff’s Office arrested Tanner Harrison, 19, of Eagle Lake, Sunday morning.

Both men have lengthy criminal records. Sanford record in Polk County includes arrests for battery, grand theft, retail theft, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Harrison’s Polk County record, dating back to 2010, includes charges of marijuana possession, assaulting a firefighter or EMT, and disorderly conduct.

Tampa police spokeswoman, Laura McElroy, reported that it is unclear if the suspects knew Blackman.

Worker Injured at Pepsi-Cola Plant

Personal Injury

Federal Occupation Safety & Health Administration

Pepsi Cola Plant

Tampa General Hospital
<guid

The accident occurred at around 11:30 am Sunday, August 29th. The Tampa plant is located on North 30th St near the University of South Florida.

As reported by Tampa police, Christian Lee Vance, 39, was cleaning a conveyor belt when tragedy struck. When his coworkers heard him screaming and saw his leg crushed in the conveyor rail system, they called 911. The fire department’s heavy rescue team was sent to the plant. The team worked for almost 90 minutes to free Vance’s leg.

Vance was then airlifted to Tampa General Hospital. Police reported his injuries as serious but not life-threatening.

However, this is not the Tampa Pepsi plant’s first serious accident. This past March, two men were crushed by a mechanical lift. The men were contractors doing maintenance work when the lift fell from about 20 feet above. One of the men was killed and the other was seriously injured.

The federal Occupation Safety & Health Administration was notified.

Source: <a

The boat flipped over, sending all nine passengers overboard.

Witness, Kris Adelman reported other witnesses attempting to rescue the ejected passengers before rescue teams arrived. She said at least one pontoon boat was in the water, trying to get the victims out while several other jumped into the water to help.

The victim who died from the accident was identified as Rob Phillips. Yates described him as a male between 45 and 47 years-old. Several of the passengers were injured as well. They were taken to local area hospitals. However, the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The cause of accident remains unknown as well.
